B2B technology companies are slowly but surely coming around to the idea of content marketing, but there are still many companies who just can’t wrap their head around the idea of social media marketing. They prefer to stick to outdated marketing methods because they are comfortable with them, but that means missing out on the endless benefits available for companies who build and execute a successful social media marketing strategy.
Alex Charalambous of Circle S Studio outlined a simple approach for B2B companies to create a such a strategy. She had several suggestions, including understanding that what works for B2C companies isn’t necessarily the best option for B2B companies.
B2B marketing is traditionally a very different approach than B2C marketing, as many additional and unique factors come into play in the buying/selling process. For example, B2C marketing is typically focused on demographics and purchase habits. However, in B2B marketing, the purchasing cycles are typically much more complex and purchases tend to involve multiple decision makers and influencers, rather than a single person.
